As a Specialist in the Medicine department at UCSF, my career has been focused on conducting impactful research in the field of medicine. My current studies involve detailed multi-omics analysis of intestinal tissue and peripheral blood in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) as well as establishing and characterizing primary human intestinal organoids from patients.

I have authored a range of research publications that delve into various topics exploring the role of microbial signals and molecular pathways in intestinal tissue damage, the protective effects of UDP-Glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 against irinotecan-induced toxicity, and the role of nuclear receptor corepressor 1 (NCoR1) in maintaining intestinal homeostasis and protecting from ulcerative colitis.

Additionally, my work has investigated the regulation of gene expression and the impact of environmental factors on cellular responses in various organisms, including fish and avian species. Through my research efforts, I aim to contribute to the understanding of disease mechanisms and develop novel approaches for improved patient care and outcomes.
