As a Specialist in the Medicine department at UCSF, my career has been focused on conducting impactful research in the field of medicine. My current studies involve detailed multi-omics analysis of intestinal tissue and peripheral blood in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) as well as establishing and characterizing primary human intestinal organoids from patients.
As an Assistant Professor in the Division of GI at UCSF, I am interested in the molecular underpinnings of intestinal inflammation and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). We employ a variety of tools to study intestinal epithelial cells and death signaling pathways in mouse models, patient-derived biopsies, and organoids.
